Acid-free coffee refers to coffee that has been intentionally produced to reduce naturally occurring acids commonly found in traditional coffee beans. These acids can develop during growing, roasting, and brewing.
An organic acid-free coffee, like Tylers Coffee, starts with bean selection. Certain beans naturally contain lower acid potential, making them better suited for refinement. From there, roasting and processing methods are carefully controlled to reduce specific acid compounds, including tannic and lipid acids, without stripping the coffee of its core flavor.
At Tylers Coffee we use only USDA Certified Organic beans that are Single-Sourced from Chiapas, Mexico. When starting the company, founder and CEO Tyler Ornstein took this process very seriously. He searched for beans all over different regions of Central and South America. After careful research and testing he chose Chiapas, known for its lush regions and farmland suitable for sourcing some of the highest quality coffee beans.
Unlike standard coffee that highlights brightness or sharpness, acid-free coffee emphasizes balance and smoothness. The goal is consistency in taste, aroma, and finish; regardless of how the coffee is brewed. At Tylers we take consistency very seriously. We carefully roast each batch using a proprietary Z-Roasting Process. This all-natural process prevents the tannic and lipid acids from blooming, ensuring a smooth, gentle cup.
This approach, along with the use of high-quality organic coffee beans, allows coffee drinkers to enjoy a clean, straightforward cup that focuses on flavor clarity rather than intensity.
